Let the tiny dreams grow (Kids Fashion Designer : Aastha Agarwal)

One to One

1. How did the whole idea of your fashion design label "Pink Blue India" emerge?

Ans :I have always been interested in garments because my entire family has been into the garments industry. After finishing my school, when I got into college in 2004, I found out my innate inclination towards garments and that’s when I actually got involved with the manufacturing side. After having an exposure to the industry, I finally started launched my own brand “Pink Blue India” and opened up a store in Jaipur and since then, we are gradually growing. I am a mother of twins, a boy and a girl and they are the inspiration behind this venture because the colour “Pink” represents the girl and the colour “Blue” represents the boy. We have been selling beautiful clothes for both boys and girls and it has been a wonderful journey by far.

2. And over the period of years...how have you grown in the business of fashion with your children's wears (babies & kids wear)?

Ans : Nothing is constant in this world and the sample principle applies to fashion as well. It is ever-changing and ever-evolving. With change of season and change of calendar, the trends of fashion keep surprising us. This change is what excites me and my team. Once I was a work at home kind of a girl and now, I have become a successful woman entrepreneur. I am passionate about my work and that’s why I stay updated with changing fashion trends to make sure that our store always has the newest styles, colours, prints and patterns to offer. For instance, the current trend is coordinated clothing and matching family outfits and we do offer a wonderful range for our customers. We keep reviving ourselves and our collection which helps us grow.

3. What about branching out internationally with your own label?

Ans :We surely do have plans to go international and for that we are in discussion with few multi-designer studios across the world. At the same time, we are also planning to have our stores across India in next few years.

4. One piece of advice you want to give parents for picking clothes for their children?

Ans : I would suggest parents to always shop for comfortable clothes for their children, especially infants and toddlers. Also be sure of the fabric you are picking considering the sensitive baby skin. For older kids, you can certainly try more fashionable and dressy stuff. And always be open to try new things. Like you can dress up as a family in a family coordinated clothing once in a while to celebrate your love with a bit of fashion and style.
