Images that tell story (Photographer : Debdeep Mukharjee)
One-to-One
1. From your point of view, what makes a good picture?
Ans : It's the eyes. It's all about the eyes. Even if you aren't technically strong, your image has lighting & composition flaws, if you get the right mood & expression in your subject’s eyes, you're golden. They directly connect to your soul. If you are shooting something else other than portraits then make sure there's enough dynamism in your shot. Be it lighting, texture, angle, color palette. There should always be something in your image which makes the viewer feel something.
2. Did you always wanted to be a photographer?
Ans : . Yes, since I was in school, I knew this is what I'm going to do. Infact, my birthday falls on World Photography Day!
3. Are you more of an outdoor photographer or you like it indoors?
Ans : . I love outdoors. Your environment can contribute massively to your story.
4. A piece of advice you want to give to the newcomers in this field.
Ans : Make sure your networking skills are on point. Work on your personality & don't back down no matter how much rejection you face. People say that your work is the only thing matters but it's only partially true. I'd say it's 60% work & 30% networking and relationship building.
